The Board does the hard work
The board of the student union is in charge of carrying out the work to protect students’ interests and of implementing the services offered by the student union, such as events and tutoring. LAUREAMKO’s board consists of a President, a Vice President and other members. The board is in office for one calendar year at a time – like the Council – and its members are elected by the Council of Representatives during its pre-Christmas organisational meeting. The Council supervises the actions of the board.
The board’s first task is to protect the interests of students. This is done by maintaining an active contact with Laurea and with LAUREAMKO’s interest groups. In addition, the board looks after student welfare by organising events, trips, fitness opportunities, etc.
The board consists entirely of ordinary Laurea students. Each member is responsible for one area of operations or sector, such as social politics, events, divisions, educational politics, tutoring, business and interest groups, or international affairs. Board members are happy to provide information on the student union’s activities, so please feel free to send questions or feedback by email. Because each sector is quite extensive, the board members are not alone in handling their areas of responsibility.
